COURSE overview
An intensive, practical week long course in the use of equipment and techniques involved in translating the stage designer's requirements from sketch or illustration to a full-scale work of scenic art.
Demonstrations of the skills involved by RADA's teaching staff will be followed by the opportunity to try them for yourselves. This will involve the use of RADA's scenic art workshop, which includes a full-size paint frame.
The course is aimed at anyone wishing to get an insight into the role of the scenic artist and a sense of what the job involves.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
17+
Students below the age of 17 are not normally accepted. Entrance is by written application. There is no upper age limit.
HOURS OF WORK
Classes generally take place between 10am and 5pm, from Monday to Friday. Seminars/ classes are not optional. Students are expected to behave in a professional manner. Punctuality is essential; records are kept of class attendance and are taken into account when the RADA certificate is issued at the end of the course.
