Is there an upper age limit to apply to RADA?
There is no upper age limit. -
What qualifications do I need?
Candidates must have achieved at least a Merit on our FdA in Technical Theatre and Stage Management (or similar level qualification from elsewhere, which must be worth 240 credits). -
Do I apply through UCAS?
RADA does not use the UCAS service for applications and we have an independent admissions process. You can download our application form from our website. -
Do RADA hold interviews outside of London?
Yes. We interview in both Manchester and Plymouth. Interview dates are stated above and on the application form. Please make sure you note the different closing dates if you would like to interview outside of London – please be aware that we will contact you as soon as possible after the closing date in order for you to arrange transport. -
When is the deadline for applications and when do the interviews take place?
Applications for entry in 2018 are now closed. Applications for entry in 2019 will open in October. -
What are the interview requirements?
You should come prepared to talk enthusiastically about your passions and your theatre experience. If you have a portfolio of work, please bring that with you. -

What if I cannot afford the interview fee?
RADA has fee waivers available for lower-income applicants. For more information please refer to the fees and application section of the website.The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama also offer a number of free interview places across the Conservatoire schools. Places are offered on a first come basis and interested applicants must meet specific criteria. Please check the CDD website for further details.
RADA can also offer travel bursaries to applicants and we will provide information about this during the process.

If I do not attend my interview will my application fee be refunded?
The application fee is not refundable under any circumstances. -
What if I am ill on the day of my interview?
If you are ill on the day, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. While we will try to provide an alternative date, this may not be possible and is dependent on where we are in the interview process. -
Can I defer entry?
No. You should apply for a place in the year before the September you wish to begin your training. -
How do I pay for the tuition fees?
If you are from the UK/EU and are new to higher education, you may be eligible to apply for a tuition fee loan through the Student Loans Company.Students who have a prior higher education qualification, or are from a non-UK/EU country, will need to pay their fees themselves.

Do I have to pay the UK/EU level tuition fees, or the international rate?
You should have lived in the UK/EU for three consecutive years prior to starting the course in order to qualify for UK/EU level tuition fees.If, for example, you were born in the UK but then moved to Australia for twenty years, you would be liable to pay the international rate.

Is there any accommodation/housing provided?
RADA does not have its own student housing. We include advice on finding accommodation in the information pack we send students offered a place on our full-time courses
