First Year Technical Blog pt.25
All three shows opened this week; The Grace of Mary Traverse in the Gielgud, Bloody Poetry in the GBS and Blue Stockings in the Vanbrugh! Result.
Seeing as though I’m flys/stage crew for Blue Stockings, I’ve spent most of this past week in the Vanbrugh. The technical rehearsal was surprisingly smooth considering the mammoth scene changes that take place and I could tell that everyone was just excited for Thursday night when a brilliant show about degrees for women would finally go up.
Having made two large A3 size posters describing the DSR truck cues and set, I was ready.
The show was a success and everyone’s hard work paid off. Phew!
I was lucky enough this week to catch the matinee performance in the Gielgud on Friday and the GBS on Saturday. Both performances blew me away – the acting was phenomenal and all technical aspects of both shows enhanced the action superbly.
I thoroughly recommend going to see all three of the amazing shows. But hurry, book quick – the performances all close on the 27th October.
